Effective streamer discharge control by tailored nanosecond-pulsed high-voltage waveforms

In this paper we present our solid-state nanosecond pulse source (the impedance-matched Marx generator) which can generate arbitrary waveforms and be used for pulsed discharge generation. The purpose of the development such a generator is twofold: by being able to change waveform at will, aim control generated pulses very precisely useful plasma applications, but also more fundamental studies. presented study, applied arbitrary-waveform streamer generation in cylinder-wire-like arrangement capability rise time (in experiments 6.8–26.2 ns) unipolar positive with 6-10 kV amplitude 80 ns duration.
